Josep Cañabate, PhD Student







Dr. Josep Cañabate is a lecturer of history of law at the UAB Law School. He is also a civil and family attorney. He was member of the former UAB Sociolegal Studies Group (GRES-UAB) and of the research network “Common Principles of European Private Law” at the Institut für Rechtsgeschichte, Abteilung für Deutsche und Europäische Privatrechtsgeschichte (Westfälische Wilhems-Universität Münster) and the European Comission (1997-1999). He was a Robbins Fellow at the UC-Berkeley, School of Law. (Summer 1998). He is the co-editor of "Un siglo de derechos sociales: a propósito del centenario del Instituto de Reformas Sociales (1903-2003)", Bellaterra: Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Servei de Publicacions, 2006. Research interests include history of colonial law, Muslim immigration and justice in Western countries, and IT governance.
